March Reading & Blogging Wrap Up

Hi guys, welcome! I hope that all of you are healthy and safe.

I recently read a post on fb which said that February, March and April seem like three different years and I completely agree. When I think about the time I last wrote a monthly wrap up, the only thought on my mind at that time was next day I have to go to college again and now everything has changed, now I don’t even know when I am going to set foot in my college again.

Anyway, lets get to what I read and posted in the month of March.

Reading Wrap Up

So last month I took up a challenge for which I had pledged to read only review copies in March and I failed in it miserably. Lets leave it at that. I seriously don’t want to talk about. But last month was an awesome reading month for me. I read three 5 star books, one 4 star book and one 4.5 star book.

Idiot by Laura Clery (5 stars)

The first book I finished last month was Idiot by Laura Clery. Laura Clery is a comedian and she makes videos primarily for fb but also posts them on youtube and other places. I watch her videos on fb and I love them. They are just so so funny. I got to know about her book through her fb channel only. Idiot is her memoir where we follow her from her childhood to until recently. This book is just amazing, and I absolutely loved it. Her writing is awesome and she made me laugh in the grimmest of the situations and this book gave me some important life lessons too. I will post my full review for this book next week but if you want to read the review now then you can read my goodreads review here.

The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang (5 stars)

The 2nd book I finished last month was a graphic novel, The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang and it was another 5 star read for me. The Prince and the Dressmaker is a story of two young people, a prince who likes to wear dresses and a seamstress he hires to make dresses for him. It is an incredible book. This book has a cute love story, a heartwarming family reunion and most importantly it talks about gender fluidity. The artwork of this book is top notch too, it is colourful and very very beautiful. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden (4 stars)

The 3rd book I read last month was The Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. This the story of Chiyo who is sold to a okiya at a very young age. In this book we follow her journey from her very childhood. It is a very powerful read and it was also heart breaking at places. I really enjoyed this book. I will post the full review for this one soon. In the meanwhile, you can read my Goodreads review here.

Heartstopper: Volume 1 by Alice Osmann (5 stars)

The 4th book I finished last month was another graphic novel, Heartstopper: Volume 1 by Alice Osmann. It is a super cute story of two boys Nick and Charlie. It is the first volume and there are 4 volumes in total. In this volume, Charlie and Nick become best friends and while Charlie knows that he has fallen for Nick, Nick slowly kind of comes in terms with his feelings for him throughout the length of this book. I love Charlie and Nick’s characters, their cute friendship moments, their cute love-y moments, in short everything about their story. And the artwork is also beautiful, it is black and white but still is just very beautiful. Read my Goodreads review here.

After the Accident by Kerry Wilkinson (4.5 stars)

The last book and the only review copy I read last month was After the Accident by Kerry Wilkinson. This book is written in interview style where we try to piece together what actually happened to Geoff McGinley, who fell from a cliff one night while vacationing with his family and his business partner’s family. It was a great thriller and it kept me at the edge of my seat throughout. The end twist and the ending of this book was just superb. Read my full review here.
