Books I Recently Bought + Other Bookish News from My Life!

Hi guys, welcome! So, you might have noticed that last month I didn’t post a book haul. I was going to do a book haul, and I even wrote half of it but then I got lazy and never finished it. I thought that okay, I will take rest this month, next month I will post the two months book haul together, but now I am just not feeling it anymore. Both months combined I have got quite a few books from publishers through Netgalley, for tours and also through Twitter and direct emails, so it would have been a huge haul post plus most of them I had already mentioned in my September-October Anticipated releases post here, thus, I thought I will do something different instead. For this post I have planned to share with you guys the books I bought last month plus I also have a few other bookish news I am just dying to share with you guys, so I will talk about those too over here. Anyway, without making this intro any longer let’s begin!

Books I bought Recently

After 3 months I finally bought some books. Most are ebooks though, only one is a physical book, but I bought really great books so I am not at all complaining! And I have been waiting to read these books for a really long time!!!

Ebooks

1. Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo

I have been waiting to read this book for a such a long time now, so when I saw that it was on sale I just didn’t even think, I immediately pressed that buy now button!!! I have heard so so many good things about this book from you guys that I just had to get it!

2. Pines by Blake Crouch

I am not big fan of sci-fi, which I think most people know by now, but I wanted to try out a different branch of sci-fi. Like, the only sci-fi books I have read have high tech future world, and I am not all a fan of that, so I thought I will try something like this instead. Also Emily from BookswithEmilyFox recommends this as one of the books that could be a good starting point for a sci-fi beginner. Plus this book is also a thriller, which as you already know is one of my favourite genre. Hopefully I will enjoy this one, fingers crossed!!!!

3. Circe by Madelline Miller

I have already talked about how excited I am to read this book in one of my previous posts, so when I saw that this one was also on sale, I just leapt with joy and believe me, my fingers automatically completed the rest of process even before I could process what I was doing!!!!!

4. The Last Girl by Nadia Murad

This year I have been trying a lot non-fiction and have been also enjoying them so when I saw this one was really cheap on Amazon, I bought it.

5. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer, Annie Barrows

I am in Read It Forward Book Club on FB, and there literary everyone, I repeat everyone thinks that this is one of the best books they have ever read. So, when I saw this book was only 30 rupees on Amazon, I just had to buy it.

6. Pachinko by Min Jin Lee

I don’t even remember where I heard about this book, but I did and I was so impressed by it I had put it on my wishlist. So, when I saw this one was only 36 rupees, I bought this one too along with The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

7. Bear Town by Fredrik Backman

I have heard so many good things about Fredrik Backman that I was dying to try one of his books, so when this one went on sale, I just couldn’t resist.

I know this seems like a lot of books, but I only spend like 500 rupees for all of these and in my country, one paperback cost around 399-499 rupees, so I am really very happy with this haul.

Physical Book

The only physical book I bought was The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. I know I know I am the ONLY ONE LEFT ON THIS PLANET WHO HASN’T READ THIS BOOK, but I have finally bought it and better late than never right!

Other Bookish News

  1. Okay so the first big bookish news is: I GOT MY FIRST EVER PHYSICAL ARC THIS MONTH. It was May Day by Josie Jaffrey. I already had an eARC of this, but Josie was kind enough to send me a physical arc too.
Please ignore my ink laden bed sheet!
  1. The second big bookish news is I GOT SELECTED FOR THE YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN BOOK TOUR. I have been wanting to read this book for a long time now, but this book is very costly in my country, so, when I saw that Hear Our Voices was organising a tour for it I had to sign up. And I also got selected!!!!!!!!! I just can’t wait to start reading this book.
  2. I GOT APPROVED FOR THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LARUE BY V.E SCHWAB. Yes!!! I have been hearing so so many good things about this book. Can’t wait to start this one!

That is all for this post guys! Until next time bye bye!

  4. That’s some really exciting news! I got my first physical ARC from a publisher like a month or two ago and it was very exciting. I still get a little thrill anytime I get one in the mail. And congrats on getting selected for that book tour and your e-ARc selection. I’ve heard lots of people talking about the Addie LaRue book so I’m eager to start reading some reviews on it.

  5. So many good books!! Beartown and Circe were some books that I really loved last year, hope you like them, too! Congrats on all the arcs. I’m trying not to go too crazy with the arc requests, but I still really want a physical arc for SOMETHING…anything to be honest 😄
