5 Books I need to read in 2021 #Top5Tuesday

Hi guys, welcome! Today I am here with a Top 5 Tuesday post. This week’s topic is Top 5 books you will definitely read this year. So, for today’s post I have decided to list 5 books I have been saying I will read from time immemorial but somehow still haven’t read. Guys, you have my persmission, if I don’t get to these by the end of this year too, please yell at me, please someone I beg you!!!!!

Before I begin the list, for those who don’t know, Top 5 Tuesday is weekly meme hosted by Meghan Reads, where each Tuesday we are given a different topic and we need to make a list containing 5 books fitting that topic. Top 5 Tuesday was previously hosted by Bionic Book Worm.

Now let’s begin!!!

*Clicking on the titles will take you to their Goodreads page*

Crier’s War by Nina Varela

Topping my list is Crier’s War by Nina Varela. In the Goodreads synopsis, the first line reads “Impossible love between two girls —one human, one Made. A love that could birth a revolution.” Yup!!! I don’t need to know anything else about this book, Crier’s War is already a masterpiece in my eyes! *whispers* It also has a 4.07 on Goodreads *whispers*.

The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shanon

Yes, 2021 is going to be the year I finally tackle this 800 pages tome! The Priory of the Orange Tree is an adult fantasy with dragons, yes dragons and a queendom!!!! Plus, it also has sapphic characters, what else do you need in a book? I will answer I seriously don’t need anything else, just the size of this intimidates me that is why I haven’t picked it up yet. I saw that Amazon has the audiobook for this one. Maybe if I went the audiobook way, I will be able to handle this tome finally. If you have read the audiobook please tell me in the comments section below how it is.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

I know most people have hit the unsuscribe button by now, because how the hell have I not read this book yet? To be true this book was out of my budget until a few months ago when the price finally lowered and I was able to buy it from Flipkart. So, 2021 will be the year I finally read The Hate U Give.

The Poppy War by R.F Kuang

Another book that by now everyone and their mothers have read, but somehow I haven’t! But do not despair, 2021 is going to be the year I will read this one as well. For those who have been living under a rock, The Poppy War is an adult fantasy story inspired by the Sino-Japanese War. All the three books of this trilogy are out, so I guess that is one plus point of waiting so long to read this masterpiece, I can binge this entire series at once!!!!

Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo

Now toh I am very sure everyone has unsuscribed! I am sorry, really sorry!!!! I promise I will read this, this year, pakka promise! I had hauled Clap When You Land more than 8 months ago but still somehow haven’t read it yet. I know I know I am the worst. But as I have said for the last 4 books, 2021 is going to be the year I read this one as well! Clap When You Land is a book written in verse about two half-sisters living miles apart, who didn’t know the other existed until recently when their father died.

That is all for this post, thank you so much for reading!

But, before I sign off,

What are the books that you have promised yourself you are definitely going to read this year?
