January Reading & Blogging Wrap Up

I am really sorry for not posting the whole of last week. I was having a bad mental health week and I needed to take a break. I read a lot though but I had no energy to draft/edit a post, that is why I took the whole week off from blogging. Really sorry for this impromptu break.

Now let’s begin.

Reading Wrap Up

Hi guys, welcome! I read only one book in January. Yup, you heard that right! After months of studying for various exams, I had a full month off from all kinds of studying and that month was January, but still, but still I read only one book in the entire, freaking month!!!! So what did I do instead of reading? Watched a bunch of movies, scrolled mindlessly through Facebook, watched a bunch of Youtube videos and did a bit of web development. I enrolled into a Web Development course on Udemy way back in August. Due to exams and all I barely made in progress in the course after September, and I was a really enjoying the course, so it was good diving back into it. To be true, that was the only productive part of my day, but only for 2 hrs everyday 🙈. So, yes I could have finished at least 10 books last month, but well…. 🙈🙈🙈

Anyway, now let me tell you about the one and only book I read in month of January. It was Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust. I really really loved this book. Girl, Serpent, Thorn is a fantasy based on Persian Mythology. In this book we follow Soraya, a princess or shahzadeh who is poisonous to touch. I loved Soraya, she was such a relatable and well written character. I also really liked the Persian Mythology based world of GST. At the end of the book there were descriptions for various characters about what inspired them and their origins in Persian Mythology. This part was equally interesting to read about. The book had quite a few twists too. If you know me you know I love me some twists. Plus, it had a bisexual MC and a sapphic romance!!! What else do you need in a book? I highly highly recommend GST. If you love mythology based fantasy, please please give this one a try. I gave Girl, Serpent, Thorn a 4.5 stars. You can read my full review for this book here.

Now, let’s move on to the blogging wrap up. Unlike my reading life, my blogging life was much better. I posted quite a bit in the month of Jan.
