Hi! Welcome. In this post I am going to talk about a lot of things, so without much further ado let’s start with the post. I know I had said I was going to post this post yesterday, but well…. I am just way too lazy!!!

Reading Wrap Up
As you all know in Feb I participated in F/F February, so my reading was mostly focused on that challenge. I read total 4 books in Feb, among which 3 were for F/F February challenge and only one was separate. And I finished no books during March. I read 80% of the Sweet & Bitter Magic but wasn’t able to finish it. So, yay!!!
*As always click on the book titles to go to their Goodread’s pages*
The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna

The first book I finished in the month of Feb was The Gilded Ones. The Gilded ones is a West African inspired fantasy in which we follow a 16 year old girl Deka. Each year, in their world, there is a ritual, which every girl needs to go through to prove she is “pure”. If a girl when cut, bleeds red she is considered pure, but if she bleeds gold she is considered impure. And in this story we follow Deka and other girls who are deemed impure. The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna wasn’t perfect but I really really enjoyed reading it. There were a lot of time jumps in this book, which caused a bit of an issue for me, but overall I really liked this book. Plus, this book had one of the best twists I have read in a long time. I gave this book a 3.75 stars. You can read my full review for The Gilded Ones here.
F/F February Wrap Up
F/F February was a readathon I took part in in February. This readathon was hosted by Imi and Ellie and the goal of this readathon was to read sapphic books. There was also an optional bingo board to help us. In my TBR post I had said I was going to read one book for one square, but as one book for multiple prompts is allowed, I think I will be take advantage of it and try to achieve at least more than one bingo!!! Before I get into the books I read for this readathon individually, this is what the bingo board stands at before and after I filled it up:
As you can see with only three books I was able to fill the entire board (this is what skill is! You all should learn something from me 🙈). Now let’s get to the books I read for this readathon.
Written in the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur

The book that again reignited my love for romance books was Written in the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur. It is the love story of Darcy and Elle. I loved this book so much. I loved the characters and the writing was also really very good. If you want to read this book I highly suggest you check out the audiobook version of this book because the narrator voice is so good plus she did a really good job with the narration. I gave Written in the Stars a 4.25 stars. You can read my full review for Written in the Stars here.
Crier’s War by Nina Varela

Another book I loved a lot was Crier’s War by Nina Varela. In Crier’s War we follow two girls Ayla and Crier. Ayla is a human and Crier is an automae. Crier’s War was so very addictive and engaging. If I didn’t have college work I promise I would have finished this book in one go. It was really that good. I highly highly recommend this book to all fantasy lovers but especially those who loved An Ember in the Ashes. The story of Crier’s War is no way same to Ember in the Ashes, but it does a share a few similarities with AEITA like two types/classes of “people”, resistance and love between “people” of different classes/types so it sometimes reminded me of AEITA. As someone who has read both if you are looking for a highly addictive fantasy and have loved AEITA previously do give Crier’s War a chance, I am sure you will love it. I gave Crier’s War a 4.5 stars. You can read my full review for this book here.
Once Ghosted, Twice Shy by Alyssa Cole

I don’t know if I have told you this but in Jan I had DNFed a book by Alyssa Cole. It was not really a DNF but was more because I was just not in a mood for romance, I decided to put it down. But last month when I was scrunched for time and wanted to read just one more book before the month ended I decided to give Alyssa Cole’s One Ghosted, Twice Shy a chance in Feb and I’m so glad I did because One Ghosted, Twice Shy was really good. I am definitely reading more books by Alyssa in future. If you like romance novellas I am very sure you will love this book. In this book we follow Likotsi and Fabiola. Likotsi is a character that people who have read the first book in the series The Princess in Theory are already familiar with. In this book we get Likotsi’s love story. But even though this book involves a character from a previous book I believe that there is no need to read The Princess in Theory to enjoy this one. I gave Once Ghosted, Twice Shy a 4.5 stars. You can read my full review for this book here.

My goals and hopes for April
As I had told you in my previous post, April is going to be a free month when it comes to college stuff, so I have decided to take on a few challenges (both personal and organised by others). At the end of April I will tell you how well I did in these challenges.
- Read 100 pages everyday
- Make at least 10 blog posts this month.
- Actually finish my Oh Srsly Read Those ARCs! Readathon TBR. If you have missed my previous post. You can click on this link to see my TBR and to know more about this Readathon.
- Read Newspaper everyday. It is a personal goal which I want to continue even after I finish this month. But for this month I want to put it in a challenge form, hopefully by the end of April this challenge will morph from into a habit.
- Post all 30 days on Instagram for the The Write Reads Instagram Challenge. In Write Reads Insta Challenge, we are given 30 prompts for 30 days and we have to post a pic every day corresponding to that day’s prompt. To know more about this Insta challenge click here. I made my Insta account 2 months ago but I haven’t posted anything till now because well, I can’t click pictures and also I lack self esteem and am a procrastinator. But I have finally decided to put my foot down, whatever I click I will post it on Insta. I will try my best to click good photos, but also we learn with experience, right? If I keep on delaying, I will keep on delaying and never post any picture, neither will I ever become good at it. Na? So far there are only three posts in my Instagram, but if you want to check out my Insta, this is my link. If you people are on Instagram too, please leave your handles below, I want to follow you all!

That is all for this post. Thank you so much for reading! But before I sign off,
What did you read and post during the months of February and March? What are your goals and hopes for April?
It sounds like you had a good February and March! I love the idea of F/F February. I still need to read “Crier’s War” but all the good reviews make me want to go for it soon. XD
I hope April will be a good month for you and that you’ll reach all your goals.

I hope that April will a good month for you and that you’ll reach all if not most of your goals. I sometimes have a hard time posting every day on Instagram, that’s why I enjoy participating in a lot of the photo challenges/prompts. They also give me some guidance on what to take pictures of.

I hope your April reading goes well, Mayurakshi!
Our ratings for The Gilded Ones was very similar. I enjoyed the story, but felt like the romance and conclusion happened too quick. I can’t wait until book two comes out. I would love to see this series be adapted for a tv or film adaptation.
I’m hoping to read more African Literature, like The Gilded Ones, this April.

I am trying to read more F/F books! I didn’t get to join the bingo, but I am making it an active goal this month to read more. I did read Written in the Stars last year and really liked it, too. It’s about time I read an Alyssa Cole book, so maybe I’ll do that soon! I’m reading The Lady’s Guide to Celestial mechanics right now and am loving it. Good luck on your goals for April, Mayurakshi!
