September Reading & Blogging Wrap Up

Hi guys, welcome! Today I am here with my September Wrap Up. But, before I begin this post I would like to apologise for being MIA the whole of last week and also half of last to last week (and I know I haven’t replied to your comments yet, I promise I will get on it really soon). I was really busy with my college stuff, mostly the placement exams and interviews. Anyway, I am not going to bore you with a long intro, let’s just dive right into the wrap up.

Please vote in the poll at the end of this post, I really need your help!

Reading Wrap Up

I finished 4 books in September and DNFed one.

Always Human by Ari North

The first book I read last month was a graphic novel, Always Human. I loved this book so so much. Okay, I am going to streamline this, 3 reasons why you NEED to pick up Always Human: super cute love story, diversity diversity diversity, and the illustrations. I gave this book a 4.5 stars. You can read my full review for this book here.

One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London

I have just way too many thoughts (all good btw!!!) about this book to fit them in one paragraph, so I am just going to quote the starting line of my GR review, “I WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN, THE MAYU BEFORE SHE READ THIS BOOK AND THE MAYU AFTER ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT. BELIEVE ME, THIS BOOK HAS CHANGED ME!!!!”. I gave this book a full 5 stars. The review of One to Watch is going live on my blog on Wednesday but in the meantime you can read my full review on Goodreads here.

10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston

If you want me to describe this book in two words then I will say funny and heartwarming. If you are a fan of huge close knit families, lot of funny moments, friendship, cutesy romance, and heartwarming moments then this is the book for you. I really really loved 10 Blind Dates. I gave this book a 4 stars. I haven’t written a review for this one yet. I usually try to write the review on GR within a day of finishing the book, but I finished this one smack dab right in the middle of the ruckus of last week and a half, so I wasn’t able to write the review then, and now I am just not feeling like doing it anymore, but I will do it, I will, I promise, hopefully by the end of this week. I will add the link here once I do it. And as is customary I will say that I am going to post the review soon here, but well, we all know how soon is soon for me.

The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

I love love loved this book! I need the 2nd book in the series right now! Right Now! If you love mystery then this is the one for you. I am not a fan of cliffhangers so when I first heard that this one has one I was really disappointed but omg, I loved the cliffhanger here so so much. I gave this book a 4.25 stars out of 5. This one too I finished last week, so I haven’t written the review for this one also yet, but I will try to have this review up on my blog within next week.

Your Heart After Dark by Mahtab Rohan (DNF)

Yes, I DNFed one of my most anticipated releases of this year. Ummmm…. I don’t feel like talking about this book negatively because it is an #ownvoices book and I genuinely loved the rep. But, the thing is I found a few things in this book a bit problematic, problematic as per as I am concerned that is, so I decided to DNF. Actually it got to a point where I wasn’t feeling anything for the MC anymore. But I would also like to admit that the book was getting better, however then I learnt that Your Heart After Dark is not a standalone, so I just went ahead and DNFed it because I know I will never pick the second book, so what is the point.  Maybe I am too sensitive, I don’t know, because no one else mentioned the  problematic things in their reviews. But there are a couple of more DNFers like me, so, maybe I am not the only one.

Hi! I just noticed that the poll is not viewable on reader. So for those of you who are viewing my post through reader, this is my poll question:

Okay, so I have a quick question. For the Popsugar Reading challenge I had to read a banned book during the Banned Books Week. But, I had completely forgotten that 27th sept to 3rd oct was that week. On 1st I finally remembered that oh gosh it is the Banned Books Week, hence the point is, I wasn’t able to finish the book for the banned week within 3rd, I finished it on 4th. But I had read 80% of the book by 3rd and also I consider my week to be from Monday, so my question is do I consider Banned Books Week Challenge completed or not?

To answer just comment your answer on this post!!! Thank you so much for your help!

That is all for this post. I will meet you guys again on Wednesday, till then bye bye!

Let’s Chat!

What did you people read and post last month? Have you also done a wrap up post? If yes, please leave your link in the comment section below, I would love to know what were you people doing last month.

    1. I am definitely going to check it out soon, I actually took a break last week and half. And I think I am going to consider the challenge done only, because I did complete most of the book (80%) by 3rd, so I think it is fine.

  2. I love 10 Blind Dates! I read it at the end of last year (I think?) and it was so cute. I loved all the crazy family members and their ideas of dates. It was a lot of fun to read

  3. I started a book during banned books week for Popsugar, too, and haven’t yet finished it, but I am counting it! It doesn’t say that we have to finish it that week – just to read it during that week, and we accomplished that.
I read 10 Blind Dates last year and loved it. It was super cute! And I can’t wait to read The Inheritance Games. So glad you loved it!!

    1. Really sorry for replying so late!!! I took your advice and considered The Banned Challenge done, because you are right they never specified that you have to both start and finish the book in the The Banned Week, so what I did should be considered right!
I hope that you also love The Inheritance Games when you read it!!!
